“Funky, Funky Xmas” by New Kids on the Block (1989)

Generation X celebrated the last Christmas of the 80s with chiseled abs and baggy-jean crotch thrusts as NKOTB dropped their third album, the first and last disc to include writing credits for Irving Berlin, Mel Tormé, and Donnie Wahlberg. This was the hardest-rocking track of the set, and the heartthrob quartet brought it to The Arsenio Hall Show. This clip may or may not make you nostalgic for New Jack Swing and the Ski Bop, but it’s hard not to miss a late-night talk show host who could credibly spit a verse.
